Money is Evil

Did you know that Money is the supreme power in the world? You probably did, but I just figured it out. I mean if you don't have it you are always trying to get it, if you have it, you try to get more, or you use what you have to control the other people who want it. It's all so very tiring.

I am a college student who has limited time to devote to a job. But I need to make money to pay for rent and food, plus try to save a little bit to help pay off the loans. I am in a stressful mode over my lack of money because I am taking several trips to NYC this month, the first for a Broadway show with my roommates, the 2nd for a field trip to buy fabric for my fashion classes, and the 3rd to help with a runway show during fashion week. All very exciting, but all costing me a good deal of money with the train, and needing to buy food while there etc. Plus when you go to the city you tend to want to buy things and well... I can't.

Another thing that gets to me is that everyone at Marist, and especially in the fashion program are always dressed so cute and stylish. I am pretty much always wearing a tshirt and jeans or a sweater or something realllly boring while everyone else has their designer bags and clothes, and if not designer than at least creative and colorful and different. Nobody else always dresses so blah. It's not like anyone says anything to me but its a lot of pressure... I feel like everyone is thinking I dont belong there. It's FASHION: it's ALL about APPEARANCE. I dont even have enough money to get new stuff at Goodwill or discount places. Very frusterating for a major like mine. It's all so petty, but yet so very stressful.
